To help you on your ticketing journey to London 2012, here are some useful facts about the ticketing process in advance of tickets going on sale next year.
1. Olympic Games tickets will go on sale in spring 2011, with everyone applying through the same fair and open ballot process. Paralympic Games tickets will go on sale separately later in 2011.
2. Each Olympic and Paralympic ticket for events in London will include free public transport within London on the day of the sport session you're attending.
3. It was announced earlier this year that Wembley Arena will be the venue for both Badminton and Rhythmic Gymnastics. Wembley Arena is situated close to Wembley Stadium, which will be the venue for the finals of the Olympic Football tournaments. This means that there will be Olympic events happening across the whole of London. View the London venue map for more information.
4. Ticket prices for the Olympic Games will be announced in autumn 2010. Ticket prices for the Paralympic Games will be announced separately in 2011.
5. In recognition of Visa's long standing support of the Olympic Games, only Visa cards (credit, debit and prepaid) will be accepted for online ticket applications. For more information on how to obtain a Visa card, please contact a Visa card issuer or visit the Visa website. Alternative purchase methods will be announced in due course.
6. You must be a UK or EEA resident to apply for tickets through the London 2012 ticketing website. If you live elsewhere in the world you will be able to apply through your local Olympic Committee and its travel agent.
7. The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games is committed to ensuring people with disabilities receive a high standard of customer service and do not have to apply for tickets through a separate process.
