By Train

Main stations for the Lake are Slough and Windsor & Eton Riverside but it is also near Burnham, Taplow and Maidenhead.

Slough, Burnham, Taplow and Maidenhead are on the main line west from Paddington Station, London. '125' trains take some 17 minutes to Slough (next stop Reading). Other trains, with variable stopping patterns, take 25 or 40 minutes.

Waterloo Station, London, serves Windsor & Eton Riverside Station with stopping trains taking about an hour. (Note: this station should not be confused with Windsor & Eton Central Station, which is on a branch from the Paddington/Slough line mentioned above).

By Boat

French Brothers will be operating a frequent 2012 Games Eton Dorney riverboat service to Windsor Racecourse, your entrance way into Dorney Lake.  Departs daily from Windsor promenade, close to the train stations, every 15 minutes starting at 06.00am.  Journey time is only 10 minutes by river.  Arrive in style and on time, beating all of the road transport and with absolutely no congestion.

On Foot

It is possible to walk from Windsor & Eton Riverside Station using the towpath running alongside the River Thames. Cross over Windsor & Eton Bridge into Eton, take the first left and follow this road into Brocas Street. This will bring you on to the towpath beside the Eton College boathouses. Continue on straight for approximately 2.33 miles (3.75 km), you will pass Boveney Lock and then arrive at Eton Dorney Lake.
