The Crown Estate is delighted to have signed an agreement with The Camping and Caravanning Club to operate Windsor Great Park Campsite from 20 July to 16 August 2012. This is a unique opportunity to stay in the Park and the site will provide additional and reasonably priced accommodation in Windsor over this key period of the summer. The campsite will be located adjacent to Queen Victoria’s Review Ground in Windsor Great Park (off the A332).

Philip Everett, Deputy Ranger, Windsor Great Park, comments:

“The Crown Estate is delighted to be working with The Camping and Caravanning Club to help provide this unique campsite in Windsor Great Park.  Not only is it close to the Olympic events at Eton Dorney Lake, but it is the ideal base from which to explore this fantastic area. We hope that it will help to provide an additional boost to local businesses and tourist attractions.”

“The Crown Estate looks forward to welcoming campers and caravanners to Windsor Great Park from across the UK, and further afield. Not only are there over 2,000 hectares of stunning countryside to enjoy, but we also have the internationally renowned Savill Garden and Valley Gardens. The Savill Garden and Savill Building will be open until 8.30pm throughout the period of the Games to enable visitors to have a leisurely stroll in the Garden and then an evening supper in the Savill Garden restaurant after a busy day in the area.”

Membership Services Director Paul Jones is delighted to have teamed up with The Crown Estate. He said,

“Windsor is renowned for its rich cultural heritage and beautiful natural scenery and that’s why we are thrilled to be working with The Crown Estate to offer an affordable yet attractive accommodation experience during the summer of 2012.”

Easy access to the Games at Eton Dorney Lake will be provided by an official Olympic Park and Ride hub which will be running from Windsor Great Park for those with Olympic tickets. Separate charges will apply for this facility.

The Windsor Great Park Campsite will provide 286 pitches, with onsite catering. Pitches will cost  £40 per night, based on a minimum three-night stay, and will be open to members and non-members. Bookings are now being taken via the Club’s Contact Centre on 024 7647 5426 or 0845 130 7633. For more information visit www.2012camping.co.uk
