New Amanda Rosa designed Macdonald Windsor Hotel opening September 2010

6th July 2010

The new Macdonald Windsor Hotel with stunning interiors designed by Amanda Rosa will be opening in September.  Offering the quality and finish of a five star boutique property, the 120-bedroom contemporary townhouse hotel will have ten  luxurious suites with views of Windsor Castle.

Mainly new build behind an attractive Georgian facade, the hotel occupies the site of the former John Lewis Caleys store opposite the Guildhall and Castle in the heart of the historic town. The rich, plush decor styled by Amanda Rosa, whose previous projects have included the Aviator Hotel, Farnborough and the Malmaison hotel group, will include a large cocktail bar and open plan sitting/eating area with mood lighting for guests to meet, mingle, drink and dine informally. There will also be seven function suites for celebrations, gatherings and private dining plus free Wi-Fi throughout.

Commenting on her designs for the new hotel, Amanda Rosa said: “Windsor is such a magnificent setting, and as such I have tried to capture the very best of the quintessentially English surroundings. We set out to create what I would describe as a stylish retreat, with a timeless feel. Charming, elegant interiors with a contemporary edge. By using a subtle palette of colours for calmness and a fusion of textures, we have created a naturally comfortable, rich space for the perfect escape.”
