A POSTCARD FROM WINDSOR
Dear Fellow Travellers
Having a lovely time here in Windsor – a stunning town right on the River Thames.
Have been working as a tourist guide, since I passed all the exams, including for German. Am still working part-time at the Royal Windsor Information Centre. And what a place this is!
Windsor Castle is more like a palace. Eton College, just 15 minutes walk away, has the oldest working schoolroom in the world AND you can sit at one of the desks. Loads of fantastic walks and cycle routes in Windsor Great Park, perfect for keeping fit. There’s horse racing at Windsor AND Ascot. Legoland (for kids of all ages) is around the corner. Most people seem to come to see Windsor Castle and leave – they are missing so much.
Shopping and dining are fantastic – no need to go to London, but if you want to it’s less than an hour away on the train and guess who guides there too. Westminster Abbey, Tower of London, National Gallery – I can show you round! Auch wenn Sie eine deutschsprachige Tour moechten. Heathrow Airport is less than 30 minutes by car so there's no excuse.
Hope to see you soon. Stay as long as you can.
Bye for now.
Your Blue Badge Tourist Guide to Windsor, London and much more.
