Come and enjoy live band performances in the open air this summer.  Windsor, Eton & Ascot Town Centre Partnership presents Windsor’s Live at the Bandstand programme 2023.

There will be a series of musical performances each weekend between Saturday 17 June and Sunday 10 September 2023 at the bandstand in Alexandra Gardens.  Performances will take place between 2pm and 4pm.

Family, friends and music lovers are all invited to bring a picnic and enjoy some great music in Windsor’s Alexandra Gardens.

This event is free.  We'll be posting more details on the bands that will be performing, so please check back for the latest information!

Sun 27 August Yiewsley and West Drayton Band.  Founded in 1890 as “The Yiewsley Band of Hope”, The Yiewsley and West Drayton Band have been playing in the local area throughout the past 130 years. It saw a few name changes over the years to what it is now known as and has seen many conductors as well as prizes. The band had its first major success in 1952 when the band was a finalist at the Daily Herald National Championships, held at Belle Vue, Manchester. Currently Nationally graded as a 3rd section band, the band play at many local events, including the Eastcote Remembrance Parade and the Brentham May Day parade, as well as concerts, most recently at Sunbury Walled Gardens and at Addlestone Community Centre.  The band rehearse at Laurel Lane Primary School, West Drayton, in the London Borough of Hillingdon. Sat 9 September Barnes Concert Band.  Barnes Concert Band is a community band and was formed in the 1970s by a small group of local residents in Barnes, South West London.  There are now 38 members of all ages playing woodwind, brass and percussion instruments.  The Band’s repertoire spans classical music, big band, musicals, films and contemporary pieces. The current Musical Director is Daryle Lowden, who spent 24 years as a clarinettist in the Band of the Welsh Guards.  The band loves to entertain a crowd and is looking forward to its first ever performance in Windsor.

Sun 10 September RAF Halton Voluntary Band.  RAF Halton Voluntary Band has been at based at Halton since the days of the apprentices in 1922. We currently cover the South East area on the UK and perform around 30 engagements each year. This is the first time that the band has the pleasure of performing in Windsor and will be playing a wide selection of music with hopefully something to suit all tastes.
