The international events programme in the Royal Borough is spectacular and includes sport, arts and culture and state occasions.
The Royal Borough has a strong equestrian link and is home to the world-famous Ascot Racecourse and Royal Windsor Racecourse, both of which hold meetings throughout the year. One of the main attractions of the equestrian calendar is the Royal Windsor Horse show, held each May in the grounds of Windsor Castle.
Arts and cultural events are in abundance throughout the year at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts in Maidenhead and the Theatre Royal Windsor. The Theatre draws in many high-profile actors and plays before they head to the West End or on national tour. In addition the Windsor Festival is held each September and is considered one of the most exciting and varied festivals of its kind in the country.
