This Spring, ‘The Indian Influence’ comes to Cumberland Lodge in Windsor Great Park, with a new exhibition of artwork by Lancashire-born artist and designer, Samantha Buckley.
The exhibition launches in March and there will be four public open mornings on Saturday 25 March, 1 April, 8 April and 4 June from 10am till 12.30pm, with free admission. On Sunday 4 June the open morning from 10am till 12.30pm will include a practical demonstration by the artist.
‘The Indian Influence’ explores the use of traditional techniques and colours in Indian miniatures but re-imagines them in contemporary environments.
Samantha Buckley is an alumnus of The Prince’s School of Traditional Arts in London. She uses traditional brushes, paper and pigments to produce richly coloured paintings that are heavily influenced by the colours and patterns of traditional miniature painting. She has previously developed designs for Traditional Arts Limited, which was founded by The Prince of Wales, and she is involved in promoting the traditional arts and raising money for The Prince’s Trust.
The works on display at Cumberland Lodge will be available to purchase. Private viewings and further information can be requested by contacting Emma Albery on 01784 497790 or at ealbery@cumberlandlodge.ac.uk.
Cumberland Lodge is an educational charity with the vision of more peaceful, tolerant and inclusive societies. It tackles social divisions by equipping and inspiring people to engage in constructive dialogue and it is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year. The charity is based in a 17th century, former royal residence in Windsor Great Park. Its facilities are available to hire for residential and non-residential conferences, meetings and special events, throughout the year.
