King Edward House Windsor

About

King Edward House is ideally situated on the River Thames for events such as the Windsor and Ascot Races, Royal Windsor Horse Show, Henley Regatta, as well as its close proximity to the many local attractions such as Windsor Castle, Legoland, Windsor Great Park, Bray and Runnymede to name just a few.

The main house features three beautiful bedrooms, two on the upper floor both with kingsize beds and on the ground floor the beautiful Riverside Suite which has the option to be self-contained, benefiting from its own separate entrance as well as an interconnecting door to the main part of the house.

This suite consists of one double bedroom with a super-kingsize bed and stunning river views connecting to a bathroom with walk-in shower and a modern roll-top bath from where you can bathe and relax whilst watching the River Thames flow past.

This suite has a kitchenette which is equipped with a fridge, microwave, sink, table top oven/hotplates and general kitchen items.  Also, as part of the Riverside Suite there is a small drawing room with a velvet chesterfield which is convertible to a small-double sofa bed allowing this room to be used as an optional bedroom if required. (NB. this sofa bed is ideally suited for 2 children or 1 adult).  It also has a Smart TV, armchair, desk and printer enabling connection to your laptop.

There is WiFi throughout the property.

All bedrooms in the property have Smart TVs and some have a DVD player.

Within the grounds there are decks, gardens and a lit pergola decking area with fountain, outside kitchen area with BBQ and outside bathroom facility, making an ideal entertaining space in a beautiful setting.

Keep-fit enthusiasts can also enjoy the use of a professional quality running machine, exercise bike and Powerplate which are all located in a covered area.

In addition to the large Thameside mooring there is a wet dock that can accommodate a slipper launch or electric boat as there are charging facilities.  Depending on availability the use of an electric boat can also be provided for an additional fee - please ask if this is something you may be interested in. There is also the opportunity to enjoy fishing, dependant on applicable licences - please contact us for more information.

There is secure parking for several cars behind the property's electric gate.

On entering the main house, double doors from the hallway lead into the dining area overlooking the river and onto the spacious Thames View Drawing Room with its stunning panoramic views of the river as it sweeps west towards Windsor Castle.

The high quality well equipped kitchen with granite worktops and breakfast bar make it an ideal entertaining area with foldable doors leading onto the raised Admirals Deck and seating area, from where you can enjoy a glass of wine or two and the spectacular views of the river and its many diverse characters from Mr and Mrs Swan to the ducks, geese and of course the humans - boaters and rowers alike all enjoying the wonders of the river.

Children are welcome however the house is within 10 metres of the River Thames, with 60 metres of waterside frontage, therefore we recommend supervision at all times, for safety.

Please note the property is not suitable for wheelchair users unfortunately, as both the front door and rear door access involve several steps.

If additional accommodation is required, we also have Willow Lodge set within the grounds and close to the river's edge. Willow Lodge is a charming self-contained cottage which is detached from the main house and has a double bedroom, shower room, lovely open plan kitchen and lounge, Smart TV and WiFi.

This accommodation sleeps 2-4 people (there is a comfortable double sofa bed in the lounge) and as with the main house benefits from far reaching river views and has its own private deck and enclosed garden area with outside seating.  Please enquire if this is required in addition to the main house to check availability, as this is also available to book independently of the main house and can be found as a separate listing on Airbnb.

Total potential occupancy for King Edward House and Willow Lodge is 12 people.

As Willow Lodge is also available to book independently of King Edward House there may on occasion be guests staying at Willow Lodge at the same time as your booking. This would involve shared use of the parking only.

Our standard check in day is Friday from 4pm and checkout Sunday or Monday by 11am - minimum of a 2 night stay. However, King Edward House may be available during the week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays) dependant on whether it has been booked by anyone else for the weekends either side. Please submit your request and we will contact you to discuss.

What guests can access
Guests will enjoy access to the whole house, gardens, decks, outside entertaining area, parking and mooring. Possible use of electric boat for additional fee depending on availability - please ask if interested.

The Neighbourhood
Very peaceful and private - within easy reach but away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre.

All bookings and payments to be made via Airbnb.
