About

Cumberland Lodge is an educational foundation and residential conference centre, majestically situated in the heart of Windsor Great Park. Our stunning facilities are available to hire for conferences, meetings, away days, professional development courses and special events such as weddings. These bookings support our charitable work of empowering people, through dialogue and debate, to tackle social divisions and promote progress towards more peaceful, open and inclusive societies.

We offer a range of flexible meeting spaces, spread across three historic buildings, including large conference rooms with linked breakout rooms, elegant reception rooms, private meeting spaces and an open-air woodland seminar space. The tranquillity and seclusion of the Great Park, the expansive green space and relaxed atmosphere all help to make Cumberland Lodge a popular place for away days and retreats.

There are plenty of quiet areas, inside and out, to reflect and gather your thoughts. Cumberland Lodge is widely noted for its relaxed atmosphere, excellent food, impressive facilities and exceptional quality of service. These qualities and more make Cumberland Lodge a truly distinctive venue, and a memorable setting for all kinds of events.

Conferences and events

Cumberland Lodge, an historic former royal residence, is a truly distinctive setting for your event.  Our facilities are available for private hire for conferences, meetings and special events.  Cumberland Lodge combines the atmosphere of an historic English country house with modern conference centre facilities.

You will discover a range of flexible spaces spread across three historic buildings, including large conference rooms with linked breakout rooms, elegant reception rooms, private meeting spaces and an open-air woodland seminar space.

Groom's House: small meetings and private hire

If you are looking for an exclusive, fully catered meeting facility with guest rooms, Groom’s House is a perfect option.  This beautiful, 17th-century house is nestled between the main Lodge building and The Mews conference centre offering everything required for an intimate retreat, executive board residential or away day in Windsor Great Park.  Groom's House is popular for commercial bookings. Walkers and cyclists are very welcome.

Dining and accommodation

The Cumberland Room, Prince Christian Room and Princess Helena Room are the three main dining spaces at Cumberland Lodge. Two rooms can be opened up to create a single dining space for up to 100 people.  The main lawn is popular for al fresco dining in the warmer months.

Cumberland Lodge has 60 individual bedrooms – reflecting every major period of English architecture since the Lodge was built in 1652 – and can accommodate 95 overnight guests.

The bedrooms are located within the main Lodge building, the Georgian Mews and Groom’s House  and can be made up for single, double or twin occupancy.  Two spacious bedrooms – with easy access bathrooms and adjacent room for carer – are accessible for visitors with special mobility requirements.

Weddings and celebrations

Cumberland Lodge is licensed for civil weddings and civil partnerships, including ceremonies and receptions.  A Grade II listed, 17th-century former royal residence, set in extensive grounds in the heart of Windsor Great Park, we are the perfect location for a special celebration.  We have a small on site chapel, which can be used for a religious blessing service, but it is not licensed for civil weddings.

The best way to experience Cumberland Lodge, its facilities and overnight accommodation is to choose to have exclusive use.  This ensures a highly personalised service.

Let us work with you on all aspects of your celebration to ensure your wedding or civil partnership ceremony is a wonderful and memorable occasion.  From guidance on menu selection and dining options from our Head Chef to the professional guidance of our wedding adviser, nothing is too much trouble.
