The King and other Members of the Royal Family support many different charities and organisations. Currently, over 3,000 organisations list a member of the Royal Family as their patron or president.

These range from well-known charities such as the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) to new, smaller charities like the Reedham Children's Trust, to regiments in the Armed Forces. Having a Royal patron or president provides vital publicity for the work of these organisations, and allows their enormous achievements and contributions to society to be recognised.

This year we mark the 200th anniversary of one of those charities, the RSPCA, which is a charity that changes the lives of animals. The vast majority of RSPCA people are volunteers, supported by expert staff, all working together to help save lives.

Included as part of your visit to Windsor Castle this October half term, children can enjoy some creative crafting at the Castle's Learning Centre. Children can create an animal momento to take home.

Activities take place throughout the local school holidays 10:00 - 15:00 to keep your little ones busy.

While touring the State Apartments remember to use the family trail to learn more about Royal Patronages and charities supported by The Royal Family.

The income from your ticket contributes directly to The Royal Collection Trust, a registered charity. The aims of The Royal Collection Trust are the care and conservation of the Royal Collection, and the promotion of access and enjoyment through exhibitions, publications, loans and educational activities.
