Dew Drop Inn

About

This delightful hidden gem, tucked away deep in the Berkshire countryside surrounded by some stunning walks and bridle paths, is a great find. Note the horse-parking outside, encouraging those on horseback to drop in for refreshment.

The quaint, flint and red-brick building (and the name) date back to the 1600's, and a rich history tells how the pub was once frequented by the infamous highwayman Dick Turpin and his horse Black Bess. A charming country atmosphere prevails throughout. Inside the space is divided into two rooms with wooden tables, padded seats, leather sofas, an open fire, low ceilings and charming little windows everywhere. There is also a large garden outside with additional tables.

A stylish take on country classics and a few tasty surprises feature on the menu, lovingly prepared using locally sourced ingredients and including home-baked items wherever possible. Avid beer drinkers will be more than happy with the well-kept Brakspear ales on tap alongside a variety of guest ales. A choice of wines by the glass is drawn from the comprehensive, carefully selected wine list, plus the range of international spirits and liqueurs will satisfy the most demanding tastes.

The Dew Drop fits so naturally in its surroundings and adapts so convivially to the seasons: a warming pint by the glowing log fire in the winter, a long cool drink in the fabulous garden during the summer. Whether you are arriving on foot, by car or even on horseback, you can be sure of a warm welcome and a smile at the Dew Drop Inn!
