2nd December 2013

Categories: News

The Household Cavalry will be celebrating its return home from the latest tour of Afghanistan with a parade through Windsor on Wednesday 4 December.

The Princess Royal, HRH Princess Anne, will be joined by the Mayor, Cllr Andrew Jenner, when she takes the salute as the troops march past the Guildhall. They will be accompanied on the Corn Exchange by other Royal Borough councillors.

Cllr Jenner said: “The brave soldiers of the Household Cavalry have risked their lives in Afghanistan and this is our chance to show our gratitude and support. I invite residents to come along on the day to cheer them as they march through the streets of Windsor.”

The parade will proceed from Combermere Barracks along St Leonard’s Road, Frances Road, Sheet Street, High Street, Castle Hill, St Albans Street and Park Street, then returning to the barracks via Sheet Street, Frances Road and St Leonard’s Road.
