Andrew Doyle: Friendly Fire

One of the UK’s foremost political satirists performs in Maidenhead

One of the UK’s foremost political satirists brings his new show to Norden Farm Centre for the Arts. Andrew Doyle: Friendly Fire is on Thursday 24 January at 8pm. Tickets are £11. Suitable for ages 16+ years.

Former teacher Andrew Doyle was a finalist in the Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year in 2010. He is a writer, journalist and comedian. A number of Andrew’s plays have been aired on BBC Radio 4, toured around the UK, and he has also written the book and lyrics for musicals around the UK. Andrew regularly appears on Sky News to comment on politics and current affairs.

Andrew is the co-writer of internet sensation Jonathan Pie, the spoof news reporter created by Tom Walker. He started writing for Pie in December 2015. Since then he has collaborated with Tom on weekly online videos and two live shows. The first, Jonathan Pie: Live, toured the UK in 2016/17 and culminated in a sell-out performance at the London Palladium. Their second show, Jonathan Pie: Back to the Studio, toured the UK, Switzerland, the USA, and Australia last year. He has collaborated with Pie creator Tom Walker on numerous viral videos. Their response to Donald Trump’s election has been viewed online more than 150 million times. As the stand-up support act for Jonathan Pie he has performed at the London Palladium and the Hammersmith Apollo.

Friendly Fire is Andrew’s seventh solo stand-up show. It follows his critically acclaimed Thought Crimes, which ran at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival last year and later transferred to the Soho Theatre in London.

Join us to see the comedian whose work has been described by Ricky Gervais as ‘one of the most perfect (and important) pieces of comedy [he’s] ever seen.’
