Fabulous feelgood disco at Norden Farm
Fabulous, feelgood 70s and 80s disco nights for grown-ups. Haven’t Stopped Dancing Yet heads to Norden Farm Centre for the Arts on Saturday 20 January at 8pm. Tickets are £18.
Haven’t Stopped Dancing Yet put on disco nights at venues across London and the South East. We’re delighted to welcome them back after a funk-tastic sell out night at Norden Farm last year.
HSDY nights are recommended by everyone from Time Out and The Guardian to Stylist and Radio 4. Dapper DJ Lord Anthony will be on the decks playing all your favourite soul, funk and disco tunes. The wonderful HSDY dancer, Lady Boo will be showing you the moves to everything from Car Wash (complete with shiny rags) and I Wanna Dance with Somebody to the 1979 Gonzales hit Haven’t Stopped Dancing yet, after which they take their name.
HSDY was founded by Nikki Spencer when she was in her 40s. Nikki decided to create the kind of club that she and her friends wanted to go to, that was welcoming and non-judgemental. And all importantly, one where everyone could dance their socks off to feelgood 70s and 80s soul, funk and disco classics. It was an immediate hit, and Nikki and the HSDY crew have been partying ever since.
Joined by dancer Lady Boo, who is the queen of South London vintage frocks. Back in 2017, she sent a late night Tweet to HSDY saying she wanted to be one of their dancers. And the rest is history. Not only has she brought her fabulous, irrepressible energy, but many of the sparkly outfits and padded shoulder pads they all wear come from Lady Boo.
DJ Lord Anthony likes nothing more than dressing the part for HSDY. One of his proudest moments was warming up the crowd for Nile Rodgers and Chic on the main stage at Bestival. He has also played everywhere from Space Ibiza to London Fashion Week – where he also modelled on the catwalk for Vivienne Westwood.
If you fancy dressing up, there are prizes for the best retro outfits, and free sweets and ice pops too. Sass and Sparkle are all set to party again and paint your faces with glitter!
The Courtyard Theatre will be transformed into a retro club for a night to remember!
