The voice of cult London band, Tankus the Henge, embarks on a solo tour. Jaz Delorean performs at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts on Saturday 16 January at 8pm. Tickets are £15.
This event will also be streamed live so you can watch the gig from home. Livestream tickets are £15 per household.
The singer/songwriter has a colourful past and a fascinating present. The songs that he sings and plays on the piano are tender observations of our fragile and sometimes twisted existence on this planet.
He takes inspiration from bar-room piano players of the Old West, the mournful melodies of his Cypriot ancestry and a patchwork of comic and tragic stories from growing up around travelling funfair Carter’s Steam Fair.
Jaz is influenced by charismatic characters such as Jack Kerouac, Tom Waits and Edith Piaf. His music and lyrics often travel down the wistful, broken-hearted route, performed live with a mischievous glint in his eye, a devilish swing and a roguish lopsided grin.
The pianist founded Tankus the Henge. The band has been a PRS for Music featured artist and been named as one of the Top 10 Acts to See at Glastonbury Festival. They are firm favourites during the European festival season, playing at Montreux Jazz Festival, Glastonbury, Isle of Wight, Fusion Festival, WOMAD and hundreds of others.
