A popular New Year’s Eve Hoedown returns to Maidenhead this year after three years. Norden Farm Centre for the Arts hosts the event on Saturday 31 December at 8.30pm. Tickets are £25 | Supporters £22. Age guidance 12+ years.
Dust off your dancing shoes (or cowboy boots!), rhinestone adorned outfits or most glamorous attire for a night of unforgettable fun at the Farm!
Ceilidh and barn dance band Cut a Shine lead a foot-stomping, rip-roaring, thigh-slapping evening. The dance floor will be laid and the Courtyard Theatre will be filled with traditional music and dancing. You don’t need to have been to a Ceilidh before or even have any dance experience. Cut a Shine’s callers will guide you through each dance.
The London-based band has performed across the country at sell out dances, top summer festivals and played venues from warehouses to old church halls. The line-up includes fiddle, banjo, guitar, mandolin and double bass – the classic bluegrass line up.
In the Studio Saloon Bar there will be sparkling singalong sets with Mister Meredith. With thirty years of singalong to his credit, Mister Meredith is in high demand for private functions and corporate events in addition to his regular public gigs in Soho, Hampstead and the East End.
Over in the Long Barn, the party continues. There are free games to offer a break from the dancing. Try your hand at our very own Cowboy Quoits, take aim with Pin the Tail on the Cow, thrash the Western Pinatas or try your hand at roulette!
The bar is open all night serving a range of thirst quenching refreshments and your favourite tipple to ring in the New Year.
Gingham checks, cowboy hats, stetsons, or just your favourite fancy dress, are encouraged!
With everything on your doorstep, there’s no need to head into the city this New Year. We’ve got a great celebratory evening at a fraction of the price, with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
