This lively New Year’s Eve event returns to ring in 2024! New Year’s Eve Hoedown at the Farm is at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts on Sunday 31 December at 8.30pm. Tickets are £25 | Supporters £22
Heck yeah, the hoedown is back by popular demand! Dance the night away on our Courtyard Theatre dancefloor to live music from ceilidh and barn dance band Cut a Shine. No experience is necessary, as their caller will be on hand to guide you through all of the steps!
Cut a Shine is a collective of musicians, dancers and callers who’ve been spreading their brand of rip roaring hoedown and barn dance music across the UK for over ten years. Conceived in the squat and warehouse parties of London, the band host square dances and ceilidh dances at various venues and festivals.
Cut a Shine is a verb, meaning to dance. Back in an era before the internet, television or even electricity, the local dance would be the primary way of engaging with the wider world and the local community. Cut a Shine started in 2005 and as they grew more popular, they host hoedowns and stages packed full of bluegrass and folk music.
Dust off your cowboy boots, rhinestone adorned outfits or most glamorous attire for a night of unforgettable fun at the farm!
