At the height of the pandemic, this Chinese pianist gave a mesmerising live streamed recital from the Norden Farm stage. Here is a welcome chance to catch her in person. Pianists at Norden Farm 3: Ke Ma is at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts on Thursday 15 June at 7.30pm. Tickets are £18 | Under 18s free.
Ke Ma’s programme opens with two brilliant Mozart sonatas, followed by two beautiful Schubert impromptus and an evocative suite by Debussy. It ends with Rachmaninov’s towering Second Sonata.
Born in Datong, China in 1994, Ke Ma is a highly accomplished pianist. She has earned international acclaim for her exceptional musical talent and technical prowess. She pursued her musical education at the prestigious Royal Academy of Music in London. She graduated with a Masters with distinction in 2017. Ke Ma is currently engaged in her Doctoral study at Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Ke’s impressive achievements include securing top prizes at several international competitions. She has showcased her exceptional talent as a soloist, having performed with renowned orchestras such as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and others. Ke Ma has also collaborated with the Cuarteto Casals at Santander International Piano Competition.
In 2020, she performed the Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No. 1 as one of the finalists in the Gold Medal competition at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Her thrilling live performance in the Courtyard Theatre is not to be missed.
