Ox Roast to be held in Bachelors Acre, Windsor to celebrate the remarkable Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II.
There will be children’s activities, stalls, beer tent and host of activities and entertainment throughout the day and, of course, the centrepiece, a Roasted Ox. The event is free to attend. No ticket required. All profits raised from the sale of the ox roast will go to charity.
An Ox was roasted Bachelors Acre, Windsor on 25 Oct 1809 to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of George III and again in 1887 to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria. This tradition continued with an Ox Roast in 2002 for the Queen’s Golden Jubilee and 2012 for her Diamond Jubilee.
