Sizzling Summer of Cinema at Norden Farm

A sizzling summer of cinema at Norden Farm

Norden Farm Centre for the Arts summer season is in full swing and the Maidenhead venue have just announced their latest film line up to see you through until September.

The programme includes Bring Baby screenings, Movie Mondays (tickets £7 and include a tea or coffee), School Holiday Screenings and late afternoon matinees. Not forgetting evening screenings where you can kick back and enjoy a movie on the big screen in their air-conditioned theatre, cold drink in hand after a long summer’s day.

July begins with critically acclaimed Elton John biopic and musical – Rocketman. Directed by Dexter Fletcher (Sunshine on Leith, Eddie the Eagle) and starring Taron Egerton, the film tells the story of Sir Elton’s breakthrough years.

A rock’n’roll comedy about music and friendship heads to Norden Farm’s screen at the beginning of August. Yesterday is the latest film from director Danny Boyle and tells the story of struggling singer-songwriter Jack. After a freak accident, he wakes up to find that The Beatles never existed, leading him to pass off their music as his own.

The music theme continues this summer with Norden Farm’s very first Sing Along Sunday season. Music on screen has been one of the hottest cinema trends over the last couple of years and Norden Farm are big fans of a sing along. It seemed only natural to bring back some of their favourite musicals of recent years for special sing along screenings - The Greatest Showman, Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again and Bohemian Rhapsody. So grab your hair brush and head on down - what better way to spend a Sunday?!

These aren’t the only familiar titles returning to Norden Farm’s big screen. They are bringing back some awards season favourites you may have missed. These include heart-warming story Stan & Ollie; magical family adventure Mary Poppins Returns; inspired by a true story - Fisherman’s Friends; and featuring an Oscar winning performance by Olivia Colman – The Favourite

Norden Farm’s School Holiday Screening line up is packed full of family favourites to keep all ages entertained throughout the summer. Highlights include Disney’s live action remake of Aladdin; the return of Woody, Buzz and the gang in Toy Story 4; a host of ancient monsters battle for supremacy in Godzilla: King of the Monsters; and the world of Pokémon comes to life in Detective Pikachu

Documentary highlights of the season include Force of Nature Natalia following a season in the life of Royal Ballet principle Natalia Osipova; 50 years on, Apollo 11 takes you to the heart of NASA’s most celebrated mission; and featuring never before seen footage, Pavarotti explores the icon who brought opera to the people.

Event cinema screenings include an encore screening of Massenet’s Cinderella from Glyndebourne; be swept away by the King of the Waltz with André Rieu’s 2019 Maastricht Concert; Gregory Doran directs a new production of Measure for Measure for the RSC; and Simon Russell Beale stars in NT Live: The Lehman Trilogy from London’s West End.

With over 40 films on the line up, a Café Bar serving drinks you can bring in with you, lunch and dinner menus, plus free parking on site – what better excuse to catch a movie at Norden Farm?
