About

A spoken word special for the popular Sunday Stories

Norden Farm Centre for the Arts is proud to welcome back poet Simon Mole. He takes over our Sunday Stories slot again with another spoken word special on Sunday 11 February at 11.30am. Tickets are £3. Recommended for ages 4 – 11 years.

Simon Mole was the first Poet Laureate for the London Borough of Brent. He is also a member of the acclaimed poetry collective Chill Pill. Simon has performed at high profile events and venues such as Latitude Festival, Southbank Centre, and Waterstones Bookstore in Piccadilly. Since becoming a father, Simon writes increasingly for young people. His first play for children and families Friends for All was commissioned by the V&A in 2016. Catch it at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts on Friday 13 April at 11.30am and 2pm.

In this spoken word special, Simon is joined by special guest A F Harrold. Harrold is a children’s author and performance poet who has a beard and strange ideas. He’s written the Fizzlebert Stump series and the kids poetry collection Things You Find In A Poet’s Beard. His book The Imaginary has won many awards, including the 7-11 category of the UKLA Awards. He visits a lot of schools and shouts poems at kids in assembly. He lives in Reading with a stand-up comedian and two cats.

Expect poems about ninja skeletons, raps about pugs playing football, stories about boys who meet Pacman and girls who can’t stop drumming.
