Pioneering women of the Air Transport Auxiliary

About

Maidenhead Heritage Centre's series of free lockdown lectures via Zoom is proving very successful and continues on Wednesday July 1st at 7pm when volunteer Robert Cooper will give a talk with the intriguing title "The Admiral, the Walrus and the Poster Girl - A Tale of the ATA".

The heroine of the story is one of the Spitfire women who flew for White Waltham-based Air Transport Auxiliary during World War II.

Readers can request an invitation to join the audience by emailing info@maidenheadheritage.org.uk

Heritage Centre chairman Richard Poad said, "Our lectures via Zoom have allowed us to reach much wider audiences, including people in Australia, Qatar and the USA.  People missing the live talk have been offered a recording to view, and in the post-Covid world we hope to make a large number of talks available on our websites together with the online exhibitions which are already freely available there."
