The HandleBards are the world’s first cycling theatre company. Join them online from the stage at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts for a live-streamed performance of Romeo & Juliet as you’ve never seen it before. The HandleBard’s production of Romeo & Juliet is on Thursday 11 March at 7.30pm. Tickets are £15 per household.
Three actors cooped up together during lockdown. Fuelled by cabin fever and with a bookshelf full of Shakespeare, they did what they do best and created an unhinged and bonkers, laugh-out-loud version of Romeo & Juliet.
The HandleBard’s bring their trademark irreverent, charming and hilarious style live to the Courtyard Theatre stage. The show features music, mayhem and more costume changes than you can shake a spear at. Sit back, relax and enjoy all of the action from the best seat in the house – your sofa!
The company pedal from venue to venue with all the set, props and costume necessary to perform environmentally sustainable Shakespeare across the globe.
The HandleBards was created based on a shared love for exploring. They present performances of extremely energetic, charmingly chaotic and environmentally sustainable Shakespeare plays across the globe. In 2013, they embarked on their first cycling theatre tour, pedalling Romeo and Juliet and Twelfth Night 967 miles from Glasgow to London performing at diverse outdoor venues across the UK.
Forget the tears and tragedy, and get ready for some live and wired Shakespeare as you’ve never seen it before.
