The attraction of Royal Windsor and Maidenhead does not end when the sun goes down; there is a plethora of nighttime activities and entertainment on offer. The greatest names in theatre come to Windsor’s Theatre Royal, as they have since it opened in 1910. This intimate little theatre boasts Bill Kenwright as its producer and audiences are treated to new productions before they transfer to London’s West End or go off on tour around the country. West End shows without the London price tag, what a bargain.

Norden Farm Centre for the Arts is Maidenhead’s exceptional venue for cultural activity. The centre offers an exciting programme of dance, drama, music, film, literature and visual art from both professional touring companies and local arts groups. You can get involved in workshops, master classes and community projects.

The Royal Windsor Racecourse hosts evening race meetings. Whether you are a serious race goer or not you will love the excitement, the chance of a flutter and maybe a glass of champagne or two. You can even arrive at Royal Windsor Racecourse by boat from central Windsor.

An important part of English culture is of course the traditional pub and the Royal Borough is no exception. Many are steeped in history, some lively, bustling themed bars and more still offer live music and quiz nights. All offer an opportunity to mix with the locals and sample some terrific food. Cinemas are available nearby in both Maidenhead and Slough. Although Windsor itself does not have a designated cinema art-house and independent films are often shown at the Windsor Arts Centre. The 8-screen Odeon Maidenhead offers stadium seating and features the latest in digital sound technology. Each seat is body sculpted to give maximum comfort so you can stretch out and enjoy the cinematic experience. Going to the cinema is not just about seeing a film, it is an entire night out and at the Odeon Maidenhead the Hollywood and Vine Bar is the ideal place to meet friends before or afterwards.
