The international event season starts in March with the Windsor Festival Spring Weekend, then the Royal Windsor Horse Show in May, Royal Ascot in June, Cartier Polo in July and Windsor Festival in September. Throughout the summer there is evening horse racing at Windsor plus the spectacular Royal Windsor Observation Wheel in Alexandra Gardens, down by the River Thames. For the Christmas holidays, Alexandra Gardens is host to an outdoor ice rink.
