1. What are the opening times for the Visitor Information Centre in Windsor?

The Royal Windsor Information Centre is open all year round apart from Christmas Day and Boxing Day (25 and 26 December).  Summer opening times (March to October) are Monday to Friday 9:30-17:30, Saturday 9:30-17:00 and Sunday 10:00- 16:00.  Winter Opening times (November to February) are Monday to Saturday 10:00-17:00 and on Sunday 10:00-16:00.

2. What are the opening times for shops in Windsor and Maidenhead?

09.00 to 17.30, Monday to Saturday, are the usual opening times although some times vary depending on the nature of the business. Many shops in Windsor are open from 11.00 on Sundays and close around 17.00.  In December a number of shops within Windsor and Maidenhead stay open later for Christmas late night shopping. 3. What time is Windsor Castle open and how do I know if the Castle will be closed?

Windsor Castle is open March to October from 9:45 until 17:15 (last admission at 16:00) and November to February from 9:45 until 16:15 (last admission at 15:00).

Windsor Castle is officially closed on the 25 and 26 December, Good Friday, Easter Sunday morning and for the Garter Ceremony (usually Monday of second week in June/Royal Ascot week) but as Windsor Castle is a working royal palace, opening arrangements may change at short notice. It is advisable to check The Royal Collection’s website before your visit.
