What does your job involve?
Zest ME is a corporate event company specialising in indoor and outdoor teambuilding, conference activities, themed events, evening entertainment and family fun days. We also offer an audio visual production service so we like to see ourselves as a one stop shop for our clients’ event requirements. As Director at Zest ME my job is hugely varied and very fast paced. One day I may be on the road visiting key clients up and down the country, the next day I may be offsite managing a team activity for 800 delegates. No two days are the same and this is one of the things I really love about this incredible industry. As well as the operational side to my role, I also have a passion for building strong loyal client relationships and key strategic business partnerships.

How long have you been in the industry?
In total I have now worked in the events industry for 20 years so as you can imagine there’s not much I haven’t seen!

Career highs:
After working for another employer for nearly 15 years, my career high to date has definitely got to be taking the leap of faith and setting up Zest ME in January 2014. Needless to say it’s been a whirlwind adventure but I haven’t looked back once.

What do you love about your job and the industry?
One of the favourite parts of my job is building strong client partnerships and working with a client to create a vision for an event and then helping them bring this vision to reality – from conception to fruition, and everything in between, we are with them every step of the way. What I like about the industry is how friendly it is. The events industry is like one big family – everyone knows everyone and supports each other. I would never work in any other industry.

What is your dream weekend away?
Somewhere fun, hot with plenty of liquid refreshments. If I am feeling a little more adventurous, maybe a weekend skiing in the alps.

What exciting plans are in the pipeline for the next 12 months?
We have lots of exciting plans in the pipeline but one we are really keen to get up and running is to do more overseas events and look after overseas incentive requirements for clients… so watch this space.
