You are here: The VisitWindsor Partnership
VisitWifndsor is the official tourism department of the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead. Our aim is to deliver expenditure growth across the whole of the Royal Borough and surrounding area in a way which:
• Maximises the benefits of tourism for the local community (eg in terms of job creation)
• Minimises the impact on the community (eg in terms of congestion and overcrowding)
• Creates a destination with visitor numbers that can be accommodated within the local infrastructure
• Creates a sustainable destination with visits year-round.
The VisitWindsor Partnership, created in 2020, formalises the work we do on behalf of tourism, leisure and hospitality businesses in the borough. We believe that the best way for us to succeed is to all work together with and on behalf of our partners. By joining VisitWindsor you will not only benefit from our valuable marketing activity but you will also become an integral part of the success of our destination and our local visitor economy.

We have four tiers of partnership available, each level giving access to more and more promotional benefits. These include:
Windsor.gov.uk is the official destination website for the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead with over 1 million users a year.
An opportunity to contribute content for the VisitWindsor social media channels and be involved in promotions and competitions.
250,000 emails are sent per year to visitors, residents and MICE buyers. VisitWindsor partners have opportunities to feature in consumer and business e-newsletters.
VisitWindsor produces a wide range of print including the Attractions Leaflet, biennial Venues Directory (for the MICE market), and the hugely popular Windsor and Eton town centre map. These are distributed via the TIC network, in response to specific enquiries and press features, through trade mailings and familiarisation visits and at exhibitions attended by VisitWindsor.
In April 2021, VisitWindsor will be launching Woo, a new digital magazine to appeal to our local community, national and international visitors, and businesses. Its sole objective will be to showcase our unique destination, its businesses and all the great reasons to visit us. Woo will replace the printed edition of the annual Official Visitor Guide, supporting the Royal Borough’s sustainability programme and, just as importantly, giving us the opportunity to produce Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter editions to reach and entice the biggest possible audience. We’ll also be looking to work with our supporters on a variety of editorial opportunities throughout the year. Find out more.
VisitWindsor also manages a suite of advertising screens in the Royal Windsor Information Centre and other prominent town centre positions.
Centrally located in Windsor Royal Station, close to Windsor Castle, almost 100,000 visitors a year make an over-the-counter enquiry and many more stop and pick up leaflets and watch our digital screen advertising. The Centre also coordinates the Concierge Service with local accommodation providers whereby tickets for various attractions and events can be bought in advance and at special rates for visitors.
Press activities are handled on our behalf by Tourism Angles. Our press and PR activities are primarily aimed at:
• Independent travellers for weekend/short breaks in both domestic and overseas markets
• Group travel organisers
• Conference buyers.
VisitWindsor partners have the opportunity to receive press and media visits from national and international journalists and bloggers. Most trips we organise are for two nights and include accommodation and entry to local attractions. Find out more on our Media pages.
Working with partners such as Tourism South East, VisitBritain and trade magazines we have successfully welcomed many groups of buyers to the Royal Borough, proving it to be a very effective form of promotion. Aimed at group travel organisers, overseas agents, tour operators and conference buyers, our VisitWindsor partners participate by offering:
• Complimentary admission to attractions
• Complimentary or discounted accommodation
• Complimentary or discounted meals/refreshments
• Time and effort from marketing personnel
VisitEngland recently reported that Windsor is the most popular day visit destination outside London! If the Windsor brand is important to you and your business we very much look forward to working together!
