About

During this unprecedented Worldwide Pandemic we cannot be certain how events will unfold or indeed what the prevailing Government advice and guidance will be at the time of your marriage or event.

There has been a lot of focus on potential restrictions on numbers of people allowed to gather in one place.  Following Government guidelines about unnecessary social contact, we will only be conducting weddings with the legal minimum numbers of people in attendance – that is the bride, groom and 2 witnesses. No further guests will be permitted.

We are committed to doing everything in our power to carry out your ceremony at your chosen time and venue.

However you should prepare yourself for the fact that on the day of your wedding the arrangements may need to be flexible, as we cannot predict the numbers of Registrars who may need to self isolate on a specific day. This may mean that your wedding is conducted at a different time, or that we have to postpone it.

Please be aware that we may call you literally on the day of your wedding to postpone it if staff are self isolating or Government guidance changes overnight. If one of our staff is ill, we would try to find staff from other areas, but they will probably be in the same situation, so this cannot be guaranteed, and is highly unlikely.

In view of the above, we are willing to postpone your wedding, and you will be able to rebook until 31st December 2020, or up to one year from the date of your original booking, whichever is the latest.

Whatever the circumstances my team and I are committed to providing you the best possible service we can, subject to the prevailing conditions.

For over 300 years, the Windsor Guildhall has been the centre of charm, elegance and grandeur.  Built in 1689 to be the focus of civic life, we have been privileged to host royalty and celebrity.  Now you are invited to share in this iconic building.  Through our strong links with the royal family, the Windsor Guildhall is a celebration of the opulent with a fine collection of royal portraits – many of which were gifted to us by the sovereign of the day – and two magnificent chandeliers, on loan to us by HM The Queen. 

Whether you are looking to host a drinks reception, a banqueting experience or a venue for your wedding ceremony, the Guildhall can provide a real sense of moment for your special day.

Please note that the Windsor Guildhall function rooms are on the first floor. There is no lift on the site, however a stannah chair lift is available.

Weddings and Civil Ceremonies at Windsor Guildhall 

The Windsor Guildhall can provide a sense of grandeur and magnificence for your special day. We were privileged to host the ceremony for TRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall in 2005 and, in the same year, we hosted one of the first civil partnerships in the UK when Sir Elton John celebrated his love with David Furnish. 

We can provide seating for up to 100 guests, and offer a range of options for you, so whatever your taste and budget, we can help create your special day.  Weddings can be celebrated at 11.00am, 12.30pm, 2pm or 3.30pm. Discounts are available to residents of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead and for ceremonies held Monday to Thursday.  An additional staffing fee of £100 is applicable to parties of 50 guests or more.  Get in touch to find out more.

Standard Hire

Enjoy our magnificent setting with our standard hire. This brings you 1 hour’s use of the Guildhall so that you can celebrate your love. With our dedicated team ready to help plan and deliver your ceremony, you can be sure of a truly unique, special day. 

The Lady of Windsor

This package is ideal for those wanting to take their time to enjoy this extraordinary building. With extended venue hire enabling you to make the most of the setting and with enhanced features such as fresh flowers and the option of a live violinist, The Lady of Windsor brings a sense of tranquil beauty to your wedding ceremony. 

The Princess of York

Inspired by the 2018 wedding of Princess Eugenie of York and Mr Jack Brooksbank, this package offers you a truly unique way to celebrate your special day. Follow your wedding ceremony with a sumptuous drinks reception of Veuve Cliquot Champagne. With classic canapés brought to you by experienced caterer Fiona Sale, The Princess of York adds that extra dazzle to your day. With the option of a live violinist performing throughout, this package offers you a wedding of timeless elegance.

The Duchess of Sussex

For those seeking true royal flair, The Duchess of Sussex offers a sense of magnificence. Enjoy a beautiful ceremony with enhanced venue hire features including fresh flowers and the option of our violinist, followed by an opulent reception of luxury canapés and sumptuous bowl food brought to you by renowned local caterer Goose & Berry. With complimentary support offered by our wedding planner, and under the auspices of such a stunning venue, The Duchess of Sussex offers you a real touch of royal glamour.

Elizabeth II

Magnificent traditions. Our Elizabeth II package offers a celebration of our longest-reigning monarch. Begin your evening with a chilled glass of sparkling wine and some delicious classic canapés such as smoked salmon blinis. Enjoy a gorgeous three-course meal brought to you by local caterer Fiona Sale, with a selection of wines to accompany your meal. Rounded off with coffee and port, the Elizabeth II package is for those seeking an impressive, traditional banquet.   

Queen Victoria

The Queen of royal indulgence: our Queen Victoria package offers luxury for larger appetites. Road Directions

Leave the M4 at Jnt 6, the M3 at Jnt 3 or the M25 at Jnt 13. Follow signs to Windsor Town Centre and the Castle. Windsor Guildhall is on the right passed the statue of Queen Victoria. Parking is available within the town. Closest to Windsor Guildhall is Victoria Street car park (SL4 1EG) and York House car park (SL4 1DD) (available Monday to Friday from 6pm and all day Saturday and Sunday). Windsor has designated coach parking adjacent Central Station.

Public Transport Directions

By direct train from London Waterloo or from London Paddington via Slough, walk up the High Street towards the Castle and Windsor Guildhall is on the right passed the statue of Queen Victoria.
