Licensed by the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, Windsor Carriages continues a horse-drawn Hackney Carriage tradition dating to 1849. Within Windsor Great Park, which is closed to general visitor motor traffic, its horses, carriages and professional teams bring the landscape, working heritage and inherited stories into your visit.

The team can organise your complete Windsor day: chauffeur collection from London or your hotel, private guiding at Windsor Castle, time exploring the Estate by carriage, and a hosted lunch with experts whose knowledge brings your interests to life.

From intimate family visits to client entertaining and leadership gatherings, each occasion is shaped around the guests. Organised groups of up to 96 guests are welcomed, with carriage participation coordinated in smaller groups within the wider programme.

A Working Tradition, Carefully Planned

These are working horses continuing a living Windsor trade. Their welfare shapes every commission, from the routes and pace to the timing of their day.

Bringing horses and historic carriages into a busy royal town and working Estate requires careful coordination. Ceremonies, road closures, Estate activity and seasonal conditions can influence where and when the carriages travel.

Every carriage visit is therefore organised in advance as part of a hosted visit, itinerary or event. Standalone sightseeing rides are no longer offered.

Your Whole Day, Personally Arranged

Treadgold Brock, Windsor Carriages’ visit and event planning company, can coordinate the complete Windsor programme, from chauffeurs and specialist guides to venues, dining and guest hospitality.

For guests with an existing travel advisor, concierge or event organiser, the carriage team works alongside their appointed planner to integrate the horses, carriages and hosting into the wider day.

Each enquiry begins with a conversation about the guests, their interests and the occasion. An individual proposal sets out the agreed programme, services and investment. Access and carriage arrangements remain subject to permissions, Estate conditions and horse welfare.
