Full time home working can get a bit dull if we’re honest, so why not bring some colour and excitement into your workday? With some working from home likely to stay a fixture, we’re exploring our local hotels to see where you can have a workday away from your home office.
Working from a hotel for the day gives you a change from the same four walls, a fresh perspective on your day, chance to work alongside other people if you’re feeling lonely and it may even keep you from half-hourly peeking into the fridge to break up the boredom of home-working! Hotel working offers spectacular settings, easily reached from London, Surrey and Berkshire and the hotels have plenty of parking space. Plus there are some great offers to extend your day. It’s also a great way to scope out venue spaces for meetings and events.
The Royal Adelaide Boutique Windsor Hotel
If you want a change of scenery with no distracting noises and to get away from peeking into the fridge sporadically throughout the day, Hub from Home is a perfect alternative.
A hidden gem in the heart of Royal Windsor, The Royal Adelaide Boutique Windsor Hotel was originally built for Queen Adelaide in the mid-1830s. The building itself is an elegant Georgian building steeped in charm and history, it truly is a home away from home. Offering a beautifully curated menu in a boutique setting, our very own bar and residents’ lounge, enjoy a comfortable working environment and give yourself a fresh perspective on your day. Set just adjacent to the famous Long Walk, there is car parking available and is the perfect spot to set up shop for the day.

Space:
Hub from Home is available in our Palm Court Lounge which offers a comfortable and relaxed working environment. Enjoy a friendly, creative workspace with natural daylight, air-conditioning and direct access into our manicured garden overlooking the affluent Kings Road. Hire our private Heritage Library exclusively for the day for those all-important confidential phone calls. The Royal Adelaide Hotel is the ideal location with attentive staff making sure you stay refreshed throughout your working day.
Exercise options:
Take a midday stroll down the long walk to clear your mind and get your daily intake of fresh air. Windsor town centre which is less than a 10-minute walk away where the hustle and bustle will be sure to give you a little escape from your daily tasks.
Upgrades:

The Christopher Boutique Eton Hotel
Hub from Home is a great option to break up the same routine of working from home. Nestled in the centre of Eton High Street, The Christopher Boutique Eton Hotel offers a relaxed environment in a boutique setting. Conveniently positioned, a public car park sits just less than a minutes’ walk from the hotel making it an easy experience from the get-go. Previously an old coaching inn, The Christopher is a historical hotspot with all the benefits of modern-day life including high speed WiFi and access to plug sockets to ensure that you always stay connected with your colleagues and clients.

Space:
Hub from Home is available in both our reception lounge and bar area. An inviting and warm atmosphere, there is certainly a friendly buzz that will be sure to get you motivated. With a casual and relaxed environment, our accommodating and attentive staff will ensure that your coffee cup is always full.
Exercise options:
Stretch your legs and take a breather by walking through Eton High Street or if nature inspires you more, take a breath of fresh air whilst taking a stroll by the River Thames or wonder onto Eton’s playing fields.

Catch up with some friends after a day of work in the bar for a cold, local, draught beer or a large glass of wine from our extensive wine list. Invite the family and make a weekend of it! With Windsor Castle, local boat rides and Legoland just around the corner, there is a multitude of options to make sure everyone is happy. The Runnymede on Thames
The Runnymede on Thames is a beautiful riverside hotel, well known for its conference facilities. Set in well-maintained grounds, the hotel has spa facilities and tennis courts plus popular space for outdoor events.
Booking fee:
Bookings cost £30 per day to reserve a table to work from for the day. The fee includes unlimited tea and coffee, free WiFi and parking. Light lunch is included with deli-style sandwiches or soup.
Space:
Working space is in the Riverside lounge which is light and airy with a buzz of business people collaborating over coffee. There’s a lovely, friendly atmosphere and plenty of attentive staff making sure you’re okay for refreshments. The space is open plan so not ideal for conference calls or private conversations. Private meeting space available to book separately, or you can step outside to the riverfront.
Exercise options:
Runnymede’s spa is for members and residents only. The Thames towpath runs right along the front of the hotel, so you can put on your running shoes and take a run towards Staines or Windsor, with views across the bank of historic Wraysbury. The Runnymede is only a few minutes’ drive from the National Trust Runnymede memorial where you can stop off to visit the Magna Carta and Commonwealth Air Forces memorials.
Upgrades:
Self-drive boats are available to hire, (advance booking required), making for a beautiful lunchtime or early evening trip along the river. On Friday to Sunday evening there’s a new stretch tent on the terrace, ideal to invite a guest to join you for a BBQ style dinner outdoors. For an overnight stay, ask at reception for the best available room rates.
The Royal Berkshire Hotel
Nestled in tree-lined avenue in Ascot, not far from Ascot Racecourse, the Royal Berkshire is a traditional country house hotel located on the outskirts of Ascot, offering relaxed stays and dining, modern meetings and events, and a charming wedding venue. There’s plenty of parking and beautifully maintained gardens with leafy trees around the hotel setting. Lovely welcoming staff are on hand to greet you at reception.

Space:
Homespace is a creative meeting space giving inspiration and motivation for collaborative working. With refreshments 'on tap', Royal Berkshire’s interactive workspace can be reserved exclusively or on a shared workplace basis. The usual tables and chairs suitable for working are flooded with natural light from the skylight above and tucked away is a relaxed and comfortable snug for informal networking and breaks. Two mid-sized working rooms are available with space for 12 socially distanced visitors. The Homespace rooms are quiet, with plenty of electrical points for charging laptops and mobiles. Bigger private meeting rooms available to hire, or you can work from the cosy lounge for a more informal feel if you’re working solo.
Exercise options:
Lovely grounds to walk around, check with reception for outdoor yoga sessions to join. Virginia Water and the Valley Gardens, part of Windsor Great Park, are a 15-minute walk away and lovely for a dose of fresh air in botanic gardens.
Upgrades:
All day dining from snacks to full meals are available in the Fork restaurant, which has new vegan and vegetarian dishes. Make a night of it and get best available room rate to include meeting space the days either side. You can purchase Legoland Windsor tickets at the Royal Berkshire so you can send the family out for the day while you catch up on work!
Hub XV at Ascot Racecourse
The Hub XV concept is to bring together premium community workspace and elite sporting venues – with Ascot Racecourse the flagship location. Hub XV at Twickenham will follow later this year, making for a series of fabulous places to work from. Ascot Racecourse is a spectacular setting, with impressive modern open-plan working space. You won’t be able to use Hub XV as a one-off drop in, but membership packages can be negotiated for a month at a time, giving you flexible workspace options. While memberships initially attracted solopreneurs and independent consultants, bigger corporates in and around Ascot are now interested in Hub XV space as touchdown points for their staff post-COVID.
Booking fee:
Membership starts from £175 per month with unlimited access to work space with tea and coffee, WiFi, free parking and complimentary monthly business seminars and networking events. Meeting spaces at Ascot Racecourse are available at a discounted rate for Hub XV members. Other perks include tickets to sporting events, exclusive activity days and events in the company of international sporting stars and preferential rates and deals available to members.
Space:
Open-plan meeting and working space with a mix of desks and armchairs in a friendly atmosphere of co-working. There are three large work spaces, with access to more as membership grows. There are plenty of nooks and crannies for private conversations and lots of outdoor space too.
Exercise options:
Ascot Heath sits within the racecourse and is beautiful for a walk. There’s a pathway around the racecourse for jogging or walking. Preferential rates are available for Hub XV members at Fitness Space gym on the High Street in Ascot, a short walk away.
