The Berkshire LVEP Management Board is made up of industry professionals from across the county representing accommodation providers, visitor attractions, education, travel trade engagement, visitor services, accessible tourism, regenerative tourism, local government and the film and creative industries.
The Management Board will be responsible for overseeing the strategic direction of the county’s visitor economy, championing the sector, internally within the structure of the Berkshire Prosperity Board and externally. Members will work closely together and with partners across public and private sectors, as well as VisitEngland, to strengthen the LVEP’s capabilities. This collaboration ensures we can deliver on national and Government priorities and help Berkshire’s visitor economy thrive.
David was born in Reading and is currently the Sales and Marketing Manager at the Holiday Inn Reading-South. He has a real passion for the hospitality industry having worked in various departments and companies over the last 25 years after completing a HND at Farnborough College of Technology and a BA Hons degree at Bournemouth University in Hospitality Management.
David has extensive experience working in the hospitality industry including hotels, racecourses, business centres and student accommodation across Reading and the wider Thames Valley area. David plays a key role in shaping his hotel's commercial strategy: overseeing business development, corporate partnerships, group sales and marketing campaigns.
David is known for his strong client-focused approach, combining deep market knowledge with a passion for creating value-driven solutions for business travellers, event organisers and leisure guests. He is adept at identifying emerging opportunities, optimising revenue streams and delivering measurable results through data-led planning and creative promotional activity. He also works with the next generation of hospitality staff through school trips and talks as well as supporting local charity and fundraising groups though his role at the hotel.
David said it’s a great honour to be involved and cannot wait to get started and supporting the wider Berkshire LVEP Board on this exciting adventure.
Dawn, whilst originally born in Staines Upon Thames, has lived in Old Windsor and Windsor since 2000. Following graduating with a BA (Hons) in Tourism Management (Visitor Attractions), Dawn worked at LEGOLAND Windsor for over fifteen years and was responsible for many operational departments such as Admissions, Customer Services, Entertainment, Environmental Services and Attractions. The fundamental role was to deliver outstanding guest services and experiences to the visitors and provide a safe working environment for team members, identifying service needs for guests and developing a customer service strategy. During her time at LEGOLAND she completed a MA in Visitor Attractions Management. In 2011 Dawn joined Warner Bros Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter, which opened in 2012. Since then, the Studio Tour and Dawn have delivered world-class experiences to many Harry Potter and film fans alike as Head of Visitor Services, focusing on outstanding service, facilities and experiences across both operational and commercial teams.
Dawn loves going on day trips, city breaks and supporting local events and is an active member of the Old Windsor Litter Picking Group. Dawn’s key passion is creating and delivering amazing experiences that provide lasting memories for visitors. She has a key eye for presentation standards and a strong operational focus. Dawn is delighted to be part of the Berkshire LVEP board and to be able to make an impact on the future of tourism within Berkshire.
Jackie is PR and Development Manager at Theatre Royal Windsor, part of Bill Kenwright Ltd, where she supports the theatre’s growing reputation as a leading producing house and launchpad for BKL’s touring productions.
She brings over 20 years’ experience across the charity and voluntary sectors, including six years as Director of a youth development organisation. Jackie has a strong track record in stakeholder engagement, event management, marketing and communications, working effectively with boards, corporate leaders, volunteers and young people. Her expertise spans membership development, income generation and community partnerships.
Andrew is the Founder and Chief Executive of Parallel Windsor, the largest festival in the UK which celebrates disability lifestyle.
He is also the Co-Founder of We Are Innovision, an award-winning event production and experiential marketing agency that works globally with brands, corporations, governments, charities, sporting organisations and NGOs.
Much of Andrew’s career has been in the travel and leisure sector, including Qantas Airways, Design Hotels, Island Outpost and Grand Hospitality. He is a passionate advocate of accessible tourism and a champion for disabled communities.
As a social entrepreneur, he is also an ambassador for Meaningful Business and vice-chair of The Wembley Stadium Foundation.
Jack Douglas was elected in 2023 to represent St Mary's ward in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. Along with a strong commitment to local community involvement and volunteering, he serves as Cabinet Member for Communities, Leisure and Tourism.
Mike is the founder and Managing Director of b2me Tourism Marketing, offering expertise in travel trade engagement strategies for destinations and supply chain businesses across the tourism industry.
Mike has over 25 years of travel industry experience, is training partner for UKinbound’s Discover Programme and regularly runs workshops for tourism professionals covering areas from the fundamentals of working with the travel trade through to digital transformation and connected distribution, as well as speaking at destination conferences.
Mike is a past board director for UKinbound and Visit Herts and is delighted to have the opportunity to be part of the Berkshire LVEP Management Board.
Simon has a background in service industries and has worked in further education for 25 years. He is currently a Faculty Director for Activate Learning leading on a variety of pathways which include Hospitality and Travel & Tourism across Berkshire, Surrey and Oxfordshire.
His passion is developing a positive culture to enable outstanding teaching, learning and assessment and develops key employability attributes that contribute to our local and wider communities.
Dexter was born in Slough and graduated in Economics from London University. He has previously been a print journalist, magazine editor, public relations manager and college lecturer.
Dexter became a Slough Borough councillor in 2000 (after helping found Colnbrook with Poyle Parish Council as Vice Chair in 1995). He was Conservative Group Leader during the coalition, 2004-8, when also Slough Borough Council Lead Member for Planning, Transport, Legal and Democratic Services. He has served on many Slough Borough Council committees and in various scrutiny roles.
He became Group Leader again in January 2022 to be an active member of Commissioners’ Improvement and Recovery Board; elected Leader of Council in May 2023 with a 4-year mandate.
Iain has over 20 years of experience in attractions, tourism and live entertainment. In his role as Head of Commercial Development at the Royal Collection Trust, he works on strategies to support revenue growth, improve visitor engagement and build partnerships across domestic and international markets. His background includes sales, marketing, events, travel trade and fundraising, with a focus on practical solutions that enhance commercial performance. Iain also serves as a Board Director at UKinbound, contributing to discussions on tourism strategy and the promotion of the UK as a destination. His interest in cultural heritage and visitor experience aligns with Berkshire’s ambition to strengthen its visitor economy and showcase the region’s unique assets.
Dom has produced dozens of award-winning short films as well as a Berkshire-based feature ‘Little English’ which is streaming on ITV. She has supported hundreds of under-represented filmmakers to secure work through the Slough-based social enterprise she founded: Resource Productions CIC.
Resource Productions supports diverse regional crew through training, development and production and through this vehicle, Dom has also established ‘Berkshire Film Office’ and co-founded ‘Screen Berkshire’ championing our regional screen sector.
A member of BAFTA, the British Screen Forum and an RSA Fellow, Dom is also Chair of Berkshire’s Screen Sector Workforce Development Partnership. She is the national SME Apprenticeship Ambassador, championing skills and sits on a number of Industry Advisory Boards.
Through building community, educational, governmental and industry partnerships, Dom has delivered screen sector skills strategies and programmes with and for the likes of BFI, ACE, BAFTA, Screenskills, Pinewood, Shinfield, Sunset, Sky, Bray and Amazon MGM Studios.
