Combine a visit to The Savill Garden with lunch at The Savill Garden Kitchen.
Aerated Beetroot at The Fat Duck
Bray is famous for two of the UK’s most iconic restaurants: The Fat Duck, Heston Blumenthal’s three-Michelin-star temple of culinary imagination, and The Waterside Inn, Alain Roux’s legendary establishment that has held three stars for over four decades. Alongside these giants, newer venues like The Braywood bring contemporary flair and seasonal menus rooted in provenance.
The Two Brewers in Windsor
Many of Windsor’s most beloved pubs date back centuries, offering visitors a chance to enjoy a pint in settings steeped in heritage. Dating from around 1750, Windsor & Eton Brewery's The George is the most iconic pub in Eton. Perfectly positioned facing the River Thames and Windsor Castle, it offers a great view, a warm welcome, delicious craft beer and freshly-cooked pub-style food. The Two Brewers, established in 1742, is a cosy alehouse tucked near Windsor Castle, famous for its intimate atmosphere and historic charm. The Boatman is Windsor’s only pub on the river and has been part of the waterfront scene since 1829. Groups can enjoy traditional British food with a modern twist. Or why not try The Duchess of Cambridge or The Queen Charlotte in central Windsor? Head to Maidenhead and visit the Boathouse at Boulters Lock. Situated on its very own island it offers classic gastropub favourites to modern, healthy dishes and memorable Chef’s Specials.
Windsor and Eton Brewery
Bringing brewing back to the heart of Windsor was Windsor & Eton Brewery's dream! Learn all about the brewing process and sample their beers on one of their informative Brewery Tours. Afterwards, you’ll find Knead Pizza serving up their planet‑friendly creations: hand‑stretched dough, bold toppings and sustainable ingredients. Perfect for enjoying with one of the brewery's seasonal beers.
Enjoy a few hours of culinary creation at Caldesi in Campagna in Bray! Choose from a range of cookery courses, each inspired by the tastes of Italy. Classes are kept small for maximum enjoyment so these are perfect experiences for smaller groups.
Head to Cookham for a wine tasting session at the Old Butcher’s Wine Cellar. The ‘Old Butchers’ name originated from the premises, a 17th-century, Grade II listed building, that used to house the village butchers. The Wine Bistro’s menu includes Mini Sausages and Scotch Eggs, as well as classic platters of artisan English cheese and charcuterie. Sample some English sparkling wines as part of a wine tasting. Max group size 25.

Afternoon Tea at Great Fosters
Afternoon Tea is a traditional experience which should not be missed. It began in the 1840s as a mini meal for ladies in society, to stem the hunger and anticipation of an evening meal at 8pm. Queen Victoria’s afternoon teas became a formal occasion on a larger scale, known as ‘tea receptions’.
Take Afternoon Tea at The Castle Hotel, The Macdonald Windsor and Sir Christopher Wren Hotel, all located in central Windsor. Excellent out-of-town alternatives include Coworth Park (Ascot), Monkey Island Estate (Bray), Fairmont Windsor Park near The Savill Garden, Great Fosters (Egham), Runnymede on Thames (Egham) and Cliveden House Hotel near Maidenhead. Or you can enjoy an Afternoon Tea cruise onboard French Brothers Boats from Windsor and Runnymede or Windsor & Maidenhead Boat Company from Maidenhead.
Take a walking tour of Windsor and end the morning at Windsor & Eton Brewery for a tour and lunch. After lunch, visit Windsor Castle or spend some free time shopping at Windsor Royal. Book an early dinner at The Real Greek before taking in a show at the Theatre Royal Windsor.
Stay overnight in Windsor or Eton at The Castle Hotel or Macdonald Windsor. For smaller groups take a look at The Royal Adelaide or The Christopher.
Head over to Cookham for a walk along the Thames Path National Trail and a visit to the Stanley Spencer Gallery. Born in Cookham, Spencer studied at the Slade, alongside such luminaries as Paul Nash.
Combine lunch with a wine tasting at the Old Butcher’s Wine Cellar. After lunch enjoy a visit to the gardens at nearby National Trust Cliveden and book Afternoon Tea at Cliveden House Hotel.
