Everyone in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead takes the health and wellbeing of our residents, visitors and staff seriously.
We’ll be working hard to ensure information on windsor.gov.uk is helpful, pertinent and as up to date as possible but we do ask that you check with individual attractions, accommodation providers, restaurants, shops, etc by calling them and checking their websites to make sure you have the very latest information.

Following the Government announcement on 4 January, the Royal Borough, along with the rest of England, returns to full lockdown from 5 January. Follow the data, stop the spread, and where safe and possible please continue to support our crucial local businesses.
See the full details of the lockdown restrictions on the GOV.UK website. Remain vigilant both outside and indoors. If you develop symptoms, self-isolate at home and get tested. If you need support, RBWM have a variety of resources to help you. See the Covid-19 page for more details.
People can exercise in a public outdoor place alone, with the people they live with, with their support bubble (if you are legally permitted to form one), in a childcare bubble where providing childcare or, when alone, with one person from another household. This should be limited to once per day, and you should not travel outside your local area. Remember to stay 2 metres apart from anyone not in your household.
Public outdoor places include:
• Parks, beaches, countryside accessible to the public, forests
• Public gardens (whether or not you pay to enter them)
• The grounds of a heritage site
• Playgrounds
The Royal Borough features some beautiful countryside with more than 1,000 acres of National Trust land in the north and over 4,500 acres of Windsor Great Park, not to mention the River Thames running through the heart of the region.
