Outdoor Dining in the Windsor Area

Are you looking for somewhere in the Windsor and Maidenhead area to enjoy food and drink in the fresh air? There are plenty of lovely restaurants, pubs, cafés and hotels with outside space so you can dine al fresco! We’d argue that food definitely tastes better in the open air!

Stroll into Windsor Royal, Station Shopping and you’ll discover lots of cafés and restaurants with outside seating yet also protected from the elements by the elegant glass arches of the Victorian railway station. Sit yourself down at Bill’s Windsor for one of their famous brunches or drop by Cinnamon Café for breakfast, lunch or an afternoon 'pick me up'.

What could be nicer than dining al fresco by the riverside? Côte Brasserie is on the Eton side of the Thames, just by the pedestrian bridge that separates Windsor and Eton. Request a table on the terrace right by the water’s edge for a perfect view of Windsor Castle and a great place to watch the river traffic float by! Or cross to the Windsor side and settle down at a terrace table with river views at Sir Christopher Wren Hotel.

For the ultimate combination of relaxation and sightseeing, charter a private boat with The Boat Hire Company or Boating at Bray and enjoying a floating al fresco experience. Provide your own food or opt for one of their inclusive drinks, brunch, lunch or afternoon tea packages.

Gilbey's in Eton features outside tables right on the high street for those who like to watch the world go by, as well as a private courtyard with just four tables for those who prefer to eat outdoors. It's a cosy space decorated with pretty flowers and plants in the summer (courtyard available for weekend lunches and dinners only).

Plate at No. 6, on the cobbled streets behind Windsor Guildhall, has outside tables and chairs so you can enjoy tapas with a view of Windsor Castle and the Guard March!
