Women painting by the River Thames Eton En Plein Air

About

Between 23 and 31 May 2026 Eton Arts Week will put local artists’ creativity firmly on the map! Eton will be teeming with art and art-related events.  There will be lots of beautiful art to view and to purchase as well as activities to get involved in for young and old.

Eton En Plein Air Competition and Exhibition

The opening event of Eton Arts Week is of course Eton En Plein Air. It will take place on Saturday 23 May and this year even more beautiful locations have been added. Painting starts at 0900 and our judging panel will announce the winning paintings late afternoon.  All the En Plein Air paintings will be on display at the Austen-Leigh and Baldwin Institute Sunday 24 and Monday 25 May and the visiting public can vote for their favourite painting.

Arts Trail

Eton High Street will turn into one long art gallery! Throughout Eton Arts Week, art created by local artists will be displayed in windows – from Windsor Bridge at the southern end to Baldwins Bridge at the northern end of the High Steet. The art will be available to buy as well as to admire. Arts Trail maps will be available at Eton Information Centre from 23 May and online.

Workshops and Family Activities

There will be an extensive programme of activities this year, ranging from creative workshops, demonstrations and talks for adults, to classes, entertainment and free activities for children. Once available, the full schedule will be available on the Eton Arts Week website.

Children's Art Exhibition

Children from our local first schools will showcase their talents in an art exhibition at the Austen-Leigh and Baldwin Institute on Thursday 28 and Friday 29 May, 1000 until 1600.  Free entry.

Windsor Artists Collection Art Exhibition

The talented group of artists from Windsor Artists Collective, together with some guest artists, will be back with an art exhibition and sale at the Austen-Leigh and Baldwin Institute on the weekend of 30 to 31 May. There will be art of lots of different styles and techniques available to purchase, and you will have the opportunity to meet the artists too. A full listing of exhibiting artists will be available on the Eton Arts Week website.
