His first show Feed This Black Man was 20 years ago. Now Daliso Chaponda – Feed This Black Man Again is at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts on Thursday 25 April at 8pm. Tickets are £16.

Twenty years ago the jokes were mediocre, there was a rap about poverty in the middle (which was as offensive as you might imagine) and the big finale involved a sandwich on stage. Two decades later, Daliso has done the Royal Variety Performance, written and performed four series of BBC Radio 4’s Citizen of Nowhere, been a Britain’s Got Talent finalist, toured nationwide and abroad… all sorts of things the 22-year-old Chaponda would never had imagined.

Daliso Chaponda shot to fame on Britain’s Got Talent, making it to the final of the 2017 series. He established himself as firm favourite with the judges and the British public. He became a Facebook and YouTube star amassing over 200 million views of his performances.

Now with over 300 million views of his stand up online, Daliso is also the writer, creator and host of his Rose d’Or nominated radio show Citizen of Nowhere that has aired for four series. In addition, he is a prolific fiction writer, with published science fiction, murder mysteries and fantasy fiction in numerous magazines and anthologies. He is currently working on his new novel and a children’s book.

So, Feed This Black Man Again is a do-over, as the now widely-loved comic revisits the themes of that ancient debut show with the considerably enhanced comic talents that two decades’ experience brings you.

Along the way he’ll examine the huge differences between the way you think life will be at twenty, and the reality. Probably no sandwich at the end this time.
