Jazz Dynamos bring their artistic re-imaginings of well-known songs to Norden Farm Centre for the Arts on Thursday 27 August at 8pm. Tickets are £20.

Jazz Dynamos is a five-piece band who take familiar tracks from the 70s and 80s and transform them with a mix of jazz, bossa and samba. Their unique set of exuberant, entertaining, original contemporary jazz arrangements includes hits by Bowie, Dolly Parton, Madonna, U2, The Police, A-ha, Wham, and ELO and many more.

Jazz Dynamos don’t just cover songs, they completely re-imagine them. With versions incorporating seamless mashups, vibrant Latin rhythms and soulful ballads, all delivered with Lucy Randell’s effortlessly charming vocals and captivating stage presence.

The arrangements themselves, by Mark Adelman on keyboard are as exquisite as they are surprising. Many of which include seamless mergers of seemingly incompatible songs that shouldn’t work, but they do.

The quartet is completed with Anders Janes on double bass, Dominque Metz on drums and Stewart Curtis on sax, flute and piccolo. The group play with panache and style only achievable as a tight-knit group listening to and working off each other flawlessly.

Jazz Dynamos have performed sold out shows at legendary Ronnie Scott’s and Soho’s Pizza Express Jazz Club in London, festivals across the UK and Europe – including a slot on the main stage at Pub in the Park, Marlow last summer - as well as private events for British and Hollywood Royalty.
