About

Norden Farm’s August – September cinema line up is here

The summer season is in full swing at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts – and the Maidenhead based entertainment venue are excited to announce their latest cinema line up.

The programme includes Bring Baby screenings (tickets include a tea or coffee | babies under 2 go free), Relaxed school holiday screenings and captioned screenings.

Christopher Nolan’s epic new film The Odyssey (15) heads to their big screen this August. Hailed as another of Nolan’s filmmaking feats, the film follows Odysseus on his perilous, decade long journey back home from the Trojan War.

Two-time Oscar winner Jodie Foster brings comic timing and charisma to playful, French language, mystery thriller A Private Life (12A). After a former patient’s death, psychoanalyst Lilian Steiner suspects foul play. Enlisting the help of her ex-husband-cum-sleuthing partner, their investigation takes them to unexpected places.

Fans of world cinema can also enjoy Mads Mikkelsen as a man who believes he’s John Lennon in dark comedy The Last Viking (15); a road trip across Northern Italy with The Last One for the Road (15); and Bitter Christmas (15) from iconic director Pedro Almodóvar.

In light-hearted comedy-drama Holy Days (12A), a young boy finds refuge with three delightfully eccentric elderly nuns at a run-down convent facing shutdown.

Star-studded, darkly comedic drama & Sons (15) is led by spellbinding performances from Bill Nighy and Imelda Staunton. A world-renowned but reclusive novelist, is convinced he is about to die. He summons his estranged sons to his home – where an unbelievable secret is revealed…

National Theatre Live: The Misanthrope is screening in September. Sandra Oh plays the title role in this razor-sharp reimagining of Molière’s classic dark comedy. Event Cinema screenings also include another chance to catch Lesley Manville and Aidan in National Theatre Live: Les Liaisons Dangereuses.

Joe and Angela’s marriage is on thin ice in The Invite (15). When the pair invite their enigmatic upstairs neighbours for a dinner party, the night spirals into unexpected places.

Spike Lee directs David Byrne's American Utopia (12A) – a chance to see his wildly popular Broadway show - reflecting on human connections, life and how we work through it.

Sian Clifford (Fleabag) stars in Lady (15) - an off-beat comedy about a lonely, narcissistic aristocrat who dupes a struggling, opportunistic director into filming her every move.

New titles added to Norden Farm’s Relaxed summer holiday screening line up include joyful chaos from Minions & Monsters (U); the return of Buzz and Woody in Toy Story 5 (PG); and Disney’s live action Moana (PG).

Plus, Peter Parker is fighting crime as Spider-Man in a world that doesn’t remember him in screenings of Spider-Man: Brand New Day (12A). A change is sparked that he may not have the power to control – but it may also be the key to stop a shocking new threat.

With a whole host of titles on the line up to choose from, a Café Bar serving drinks you can bring in with you, lunch and dinner menus, plus free parking on site – what better excuse to catch a movie at Norden Farm this season?
