Leading political comedian Matt Forde returns to Maidenhead on his biggest live tour to date – following a sold-out performance in May. Matt Forde: Defying Calamity is at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts on Thursday 16 July at 8pm. Tickets are £26.50.
Matt Forde finds positivity in life despite all the evidence to the contrary in politics and his own health.
After enduring what he thought was sciatica during the 2023 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, he was diagnosed with cancer. But just 12 months later, Matt announced his biggest tour to date before a month-long run at the 2024 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Matt Forde is the host of hit political podcast The Political Party. He is also known for Spitting Image and The British Scandal. Matt wrote and voiced characters for Spitting Image (BritBox / ITV) including Boris Johnson, Keir Starmer and Donald Trump. Across official social media channels, series content has been hugely popular with over 200 million views globally, three no.1 trending videos on YouTube and achieved praise across the political divide.
He is one of the country’s most in-demand satirists. In 2019, he hosted the Alternative News Desk for Channel 4’s election night coverage. In his Political Party podcast, he has interviewed guests ranging from Nicola Sturgeon, David Blunkett and Sadiq Khan to name a few. The podcast has amassed over 6 million downloads.
It has been nominated for Best Comedy Podcast from the British Podcast Awards and the Internet Award at the Chortle Awards.
Matt has also hosted four series of Dave’s Unspun with Matt Forde, receiving several nominations at the Broadcast Digital Awards. Other credits include BBC1’s Have I Got News For You, BBC2’s Mock The Week, Channel 4’s 8 out of 10 Cats and many more. Matt currently presents Absolute Radio’s weekly Rock n Roll Football Show, and he is also the co-host of Wondery’s flagship podcast British Scandal alongside Alice Levine.
Don’t miss this second chance to see Matt live on stage in Maidenhead this summer.
