One of the most famous detectives returns. Sherlock Holmes: The Last Act is at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts on Saturday 28 September at 8pm. Tickets are £16.

The year is 1916. Drawn from two years of Sussex retirement for the funeral of his friend Dr Watson, Sherlock Holmes returns to Baker Street to resolve ‘the last act’ of his epic career.

A theatrical evening then unfolds, with fourteen characters, all played by Nigel Miles-Thomas in a tour de force performance. Expect cross-examinations, heated arguments between Holmes and Watson and all manner of comic and serious interactions between many of author Arthur Conan Doyle’s most famous characters.

Nigel Miles-Thomas has 40 years of experience in Theatre Practice incorporating acting, directing, producing, business training and personal management. As a professional actor he has been in over 100 productions worldwide. He has directed Zzza Zza Gabor in Hollywood and still lives to tell the tale. On television he has performed in Dr Who and has appeared in Grange Hill, The Professionals, Minder and more.

Written by Conan Doyle expert David Stuart Davies, who worked as a teacher of English before becoming a full-time editor, writer and playwright. He has written extensively about Sherlock Holmes, both fiction and non-fiction and he is the editor of Red Herrings, the monthly in-house publication of the Crime Writer’s Association.

Directed by award-winning Gareth Armstrong, who was a founder of the Made in Wales Stage Company in Wales, where he was born. He directed classics, new plays and the modern repertoire. He specialises in creating solo shows with other writers and performers.
