Norden Farm’s summer cinema line up announced

Summer has arrived and Norden Farm Centre for the Arts in Maidenhead are excited to announce their latest cinema line up - featuring some of the most talked about films of the moment.

The programme includes Bring Baby screenings (tickets include a tea or coffee | babies under 2 go free), Relaxed school holiday screenings and Captioned screenings (providing a transcription of the audio and dialogue from a film on screen).

Event Cinema screenings this season include Lesley Manville (Phantom Thread, Mum) and Aidan Turner (Rivals, Poldark) in National Theatre Live: Les Liaisons Dangereuses. Christopher Hampton’s celebrated adaptation brings the Marquise de Merteuil and magnetic Vicomte de Valmont to the stage. The pair turn seduction into strategy - but when their alliance collapses into rivalry, the battle between them threatens to destroy everyone in their path.

A sharp and remarkable tale of creativity, legacy and avarice - The Christophers is screening in June. Ian McKellen stars as reclusive artist Julian Sklar and Michaela Coel as art restorer and former forger Lori, in this acclaimed new film from Steven Soderbergh.

Also on the line up is the much-anticipated return to the sleek offices of Runway Magazine in The Devil Wears Prada 2 and suspenseful heist-thriller Tuner about a gifted piano tuner with an unexpected aptitude for cracking safes.

Documentary Our Land dares to tread where few have trespassed before, asking the timely question of who has the right to roam in the English countryside?

Other documentary screenings include a trip back to 1993 with Glastonbury The Movie: 30th Anniversary Cut – to mark what would have been Glastonbury weekend; and a look at the enduring legacy of Northern Soul with Northern Soul – Still Burning.

In 1975 Cologne, an ambitious teenage concert promoter defies the odds to book American jazz pianist Keith Jarrett in Köln 75. The film reveals the compelling and little-known story behind Jarrett’s one-hour, entirely improvised concert, which went on to become the best-selling solo jazz album in history.

World cinema fans can also catch screenings of French comedy-drama Colours of Time from the director of Call My Agent!, Italian period drama Primavera, seductive thriller Eagles of the Republic and Leonora in the Morning Light - exploring the life of artist Leonora Carrington.

From Mark Jenkin, the director of Bait, The Rose of Nevada follows the story of a fishing boat that mysteriously reappears in the old harbour of a forgotten Cornish village after 30 years. Starring George MacKay and Callum Turner.

One of the most anticipated films of the summer, blockbuster Disclosure Day comes to their big screen in July. Directed by multi award-winning Steven Spielberg, it features an all-star cast including Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, Colin Firth and Colman Domingo.

Relaxed school holiday screenings include Hugh Jackman in witty mystery The Sheep Detectives and heartfelt animated adventure Charlie The Wonderdog. With Minions & Monsters and Toy Story 5 screening in August.
