Celebratory summer concert at Norden Farm

The second celebratory concert performed this summer. Summer Recital Series – St John’s Ensemble with Elisabeth Cullen (soprano) is at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts on Wednesday 16 July at 7.30pm. Tickets are £19 | Under 18s free.

In this delightful Viennese programme, two of Mozart’s greatest chamber works rub shoulders with Schubert’s eloquent Duo and a selection of his last songs.

Featuring Elisabeth Cullen (soprano) who currently holds the Santander Universities UK Award studying voice with Mary Nelson at the Royal Academy of Music. She is an in demand soloist and recitalist and has performed with choirs such as the Marlow Choral Society and appeared at the Hurley Music and Arts Festival.

Elisabeth currently holds the position of Solo Cantor at St Mary’s Church, Cadogan Street, London.

Elisabeth is joined by Ron Colyer (violin), Susan Black (viola), Paul Cox (cello) and Caroline Owen (clarinet).

Maidenhead resident Nigel Wilkinson returns to Norden Farm on piano. Nigel is an examiner for the Royal College of Music and Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He was also a senior producer on BBC Radio 3.

Mozart is thought to have written his Kegelstatt Trio whilst playing a game of skittles, while his G minor Quartet had an altogether darker and more intense quality.
