Expect a night of electrifying jazz. The Brandon Allen Quartet (tenor sax) is at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts on Friday 15 November at 8pm. Tickets are £16.
Originally from Perth, Western Australia, Brandon Allen relocated to London in 2000. Since arriving in the UK, he has worked with many high profile artists, groups and ensembles as a saxophonist. He is an accomplished jazz composer and arranger, writing for other artists and for his various jazz groups.
Brandon’s distinctive saxophone sound has been featured on film soundtracks including Alfie (2004) and The Look of Love (2013). He has featured on four Kyle Eastwood albums and numerous other releases.
He has performed with Eric Clapton, Paloma Faith, Kyle Eastwood, Mica Paris, Jools Holland, Gary Barlow, Neil Diamond, Tony Hadley, Sophie Ellis Bextor and many more. Brandon has also appeared at festivals including the Copenhagen Jazz Festival, the London Jazz Festival and Monterey Jazz Festival.
Brandon has taught privately for over 25 years. He is currently a professor of saxophone at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He also led masterclasses at The Sydney Conservatorium, The Purcell School, Cambridge Jazz Co-op and more.
His performance in the studio setting of Norden Farm is not to be missed.
