A fresh take on a classic fairytale this half term

Get set for family fun this Half Term as The Elves and the Shoemaker comes to Norden Farm Centre for the Arts on Wednesday 28 October at 11.30am and 2pm. Tickets are £13.50 | £11.50 under 16s | £45 Family and Friends (4 people) (plus a £1.90 per transaction booking fee). Age guidance 3+ years.

Elvis Schumacher, cobbler and craftsman, has worked all his life creating the most beautiful footwear. But now he’s hit hard times…Everyone’s buying boring shoes from the evil businessman, Bunyan Sole-less. Time is running out for Elvis. With one piece of leather left and Bunyan’s factory growing, can anyone help him?

This well-known and well-loved tale is inspired by the exquisite Ladybird book which all parents remember. It has been re-heeled by Theatre of Widdershins in their own inimitable style as a theatrical one man show.

The original soundtrack is by composer Martin Thornton. Martin’s first commission was with the Theatre of Widdershins in 1997. Since then he continued to compose music for film, theatre, concert hall and various exhibitions.

Beautifully crafted set and puppets, sublime music, a kaleidoscope of miniature shoes and a comic mouse make this show a magical must-see this school holiday.
