Two top comedians preview their latest work ahead of the Edinburgh Festival. Avalon Edinburgh Preview: Garrett Millerick and James Trickey is at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts on Wednesday 18 February at 7.30pm. Tickets are £15.

Garrett Millerick is a phenomenal stand-up comic. His breakout television performance was on the hit US late-night talk show Conan (TBS). The performance came off the back of his breakthrough live show Sunflower, which became one of the best reviewed and most talked about shows at the Edinburgh Fringe 2018.

In 2024, he created, wrote and starred in his first sitcom, Do Gooders, on BBC Radio 4 and BBC Sounds. The show boasted an incredible cast including Frank Skinner, Fay Ripley, Lisa McGrillis, Ahir Shah, Ania Magliano and Glenn Moore. The show received widespread critical acclaim and was named critic’s choice in publications including The Sunday Times, The Observer and The Independent.

James Trickey is a rising comedian, hailed as ‘one to watch’. With a sharp mind and a distinct take on life, he crafts a blend of silly gags and physical comedy with clever and surprising routines.

James transitioned into comedy from a career in accounting. His Edinburgh Fringe debut hour Don’t Count On Me was a sell-out hit with critical success, with The List’s four-star review commending “Trickey’s command of the stage is absolute, his timing flawless” and The Guardian confirming “Trickey has certainly got it”.

He recently featured in an episode of BBC’s Funny Parts. Performing across the UK and at numerous festivals, James was the Chortle Student Comedy runner-up in 2018 and was recently nominated for Best New Show at the Leicester Comedy Festival.
