Bank Holiday Events and Things to Do

Everyone loves a long weekend! A bank holiday is a great opportunity to get away, do something different and give yourself a proper break, whether you choose to spend it with the family or with friends. Windsor and the Royal Borough is the most perfect place to spend a long weekend, whether you're here to visit friends and relatives, explore our many things to do, check out a special event or simply come to soak up the atmosphere, do some shopping and enjoy the top notch food and drink!

Spring bank holiday

In 2025, the Spring bank holiday falls on Monday 26 May 2025. The weather is warming up and there's lots to keep you entertained outdoors, but we've got you covered for great indoor activities too in case it rains!

There's plenty of arty stuff to do over the 2025 Spring bank holiday, whether it's exploring the events taking place during Eton Arts Week, taking a look round the latest exhibition at the Stanley Spencer Gallery, admiring Nora Davison's watercolours at Eton College, or getting involved in crafty activities at Windsor Castle.

Join the fun at the Celebrate Windsor first anniversary event at Windsor Royal where you'll find free fairground-themed entertainment for all the family.

Get out on the river with our lovely boat operators or explore the countryside by foot or bike. Enjoy a unique day out in the treetops at Go Ape where you can clamber up rope ladders, tackle tricky crossings and experience their iconic ziplines. Our parks and gardens are blooming lovely at this time of year too.

Outdoor events include LEGO® Festival at LEGOLAND® Windsor and Royal Windsor Racecourse's Summer Opening Party.

Summer bank holiday

In 2025, the Summer bank holiday will take place on Monday 26 August. Fingers crossed that the weather is sunny so that outdoor events that weekend like Royal Windsor Racecourse's Summer Saturday is a sizzling day for all!
