An irresistibly charming homage to the magnificent horses of the circus and silent movie era. Chevalier: Hobbyhorse Circus is at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts of Tuesday 17 February at 2pm. Tickets are £13.50 | Under 16s £11.50 | Family and Friends (4 people) £45. Age guidance 4+ years.

Drawing inspiration from the history of traditional horse circuses, Kalle Lehtto’s ringmaster performs acrobats, juggling and balancing with an amazing cast of hobby horses.

As the horses take centre stage on the small manège, part of the ringmaster’s story is told in short silent movies accompanied by old time silent movie music. Kalle’s playful work with the hobby horses, natural comedic sense and the fluid movement of a breakdancer bring the magic of circus alive – completed by Sami Tammela’s genius music and traditional circus soundscapes with electronic elements.

Produced by Race Horse Company, who were established in 2008 with the mission of creating uncompromising and unique circus with no holds barred. Their performances combine strong acrobatic skills, the aesthetics of chaos, dark humour and surprise.

Chevalier is the third part of Kalle Lehto’s trilogy of circus shows for children.  A unique experience not to be missed this February half term.
