Local crochet artist Izabela Rocks is inviting the Maidenhead community to explore creativity and calm through her new workshop series, Mindful Crochet: Learn the Basic Stitches Step by Step.
This beginner-friendly series offers a gentle, mindful approach to crochet, perfect for those looking to slow down, try something new, or reconnect with a forgotten hobby. Participants will learn how to hold yarn and hook with ease, master the core stitches (chain, double, and treble crochet), explore simple patterns and textures, and discover how the rhythm of slow, repetitive stitching can bring focus, relaxation, and joy.
Each session is themed to build skills gradually:
• Mindful Crochet 1: "First Stitches" — 2 September, 6pm
• Mindful Crochet 2: "Meditation Squares" — 16 September, 6pm
• Mindful Crochet 3: "Texture & Pattern" — 30 September, 6pm
• Mindful Crochet 4: "Bring It Together" — 14 October, 6pm
No experience is needed and all materials are provided. Attendees will leave each session with their own stitched sample, practical guidance for continuing at home, and a renewed appreciation for slowing down.
